CONVEYORS

Conveyors move the product to the next stage of the process. Space and price considerations frequently dictate the quantity of conveyors selected. A higher quantity of conveyors provides extra storage to free up the turnstile as soon as possible without waiting for all the mults In a batch to be eye banded.

Auto Indexing Conveyors

  • Precision level steel rollers are standard
  • Urethane covered rollers or belt covered rollers
are available for delicate or non-ferrous
        applications
  • Electric motor drives with smooth soft-start
        avoid skid marking
  • Weighing is also available if required

Direction Change Conveyors

Direction Change Conveyors

Direction Change Conveyors make it possible to have two slitting lines feeding one packaging line. The 90° rotate conveyor maintains coils on the centre of the conveyor, whilst the prevision minimises the risk of marking.

AUTOMATIC SPACER PLACER

A spacer placer automatically places three or four wooden spacer blocks radially on top of a slit coll so that another coil can be placed on top. This allows multiple slit coils to be packaged together on a single pallet without being damaged. Coils can then be easily un-packaged and handled by a fork truck at the final destination.

Spacer placers can be designed to position the spacers in different configurations, depending on coil size and downstream operations. The automatic placers allow operators to do other tasks instead of manually placing the spacers. This reduces repetitive work Injuries and improves operator safety. Automatic spacer placers may be added to existing packaging lines as they are independent of the coil conveyor. The placer simply needs a position in the line where the coil is automatically centred on the conveyor. The unit consists of a spacer gripper mechanism that can move in the three axes and has a vibratory hopper, a small parts conveyor system, and a control system.

     FEATURES

  • Spacers are uniform and pre-cut
  • Three different lengths of spacers can be placed
  • Mults are automatically centred on the conveyor beneath the placer
  • Spacers are placed in three or four locations on the mult
  • Spacer storage hopper is filled once per shift
  • Spacers can be placed in different combinations and positions relative to the centre
and outer edge of the mult
  • Automatic spacer placers may be added to existing lines
  • The placer automatically adjusts to suit coll diameter

COIL TIPPERS

During many stages of the slit coil packaging process, coils and slit mults must be rotated between eye horizontal and eye vertical. Depending on the specific application, there are several types of equipment that can accomplish this type of rotation.

Slit Mult Lifters

Slit Mult Lifters Slit Mult Lifters are used for moving a single slit coil between vertical and horizontal positions. The lifters are made of high strength steel and the inside corners are polished and NDT inspected. Bushman AvonTec's Slit Mult Lifters can be custom-designed for various capacities and coil sizes. The available capacities range from 500 to 10,000 pounds.

This specially designed lifter facilitates fast and safe placement of a slit coil onto an un-coiler mandrel. The lifter automatically adjusts to various coil diameters and the full length handle makes it easier to manoeuvre. This Slit Mult Lifter is also faster and safer to use than a conventional C-hook.
